My notes on skiing...
I have been skiing 22 years, on and off, mostly on. Several of those years were over 70 days, a few over 100 days, and only 1 with no skiing at all in 1993 when I was dirt poor and had 4 broken toes anyway. I have been "learning what I came to teach" since 1990, when I trained with the Park City High School mogul team and later practiced a lot with the GS and Super G skiers on the high school team and the US Ski Team. I never competed in any skiing events, but was lucky enough to live in one of the top 3 mountain towns in America and be exposed to a vareity of skiing. For the last 6 years, since 2001, I have been working hard. Skiing is not just a hobby anymore, it is my passion. This year I am working full time as a ski instructor, ski tech, and ski tester. I feel it is a true calling to me. To expose you to what I experience while I ski. To create your own experince to go back again and again. To push yourself.
The best way to ask me what I specialize in would be to follow me around on a freeskiing day. I am usually found in the trees, seeking out any powder, deep powder, the cliffs in Empire Canyon, in the terrain park on the big 30-50 foot kickers, or in the half pipe. I also love to carve, so a groomer on carving skis can be just as exciting as anything I just mentioned. I ski on a variety of skis all the time and diversity is my middle name.
If you are looking to learn to ski the right way and build a solid foundation for whatever your intended style is, I think we have a solid future ahead of us. Please respond to the phone number for any further questions and I'll be happy to help.
